Lautaro Martínez, Argentina’s hero, scored the winning goal in the 88th minute. He followed up on a rebound after Lionel Messi’s dangerous corner kick was initially saved by Chilean goalkeeper Claudio Bravo. This is Martínez’s second goal of the tournament.
With this victory, Argentina solidify their position at the top of Group A with a perfect record of six points.
Canada trails behind with three points, while Chile and Peru remain at the bottom with just one point each.
The Albiceleste will conclude the group stage against Peru this Saturday in Miami Gardens, Florida. Meanwhile, Canada will battle Chile in Orlando, Florida on the same day.
