God First: Guehi’s Father Might Miss England Match Due to Religious Commitment

England defender Marc Guehi’s father, a church pastor, might miss the team’s crucial Euro 2024 match against Slovakia due to a scheduling conflict with his religious duties.

The 23-year-old Guehi has been a standout performer for England’s defense, which has only conceded one goal so far in the tournament.

However, his father, John Guehi, who attended England’s opening match against Serbia, might not be able to make it to the upcoming Slovakia game due to a 6pm kick-off time, potentially clashing with his usual church service schedule.

“I’d expect him to be at church, but he could turn up,” Guehi said. “I’ll have to message him later to ask.”

England’s defensive performance has been a positive surprise for the team, with two clean sheets recorded in the group stage.
