Spain booked their place in the Euro 2024 semi-finals with a thrilling 2-1 victory over hosts Germany in Stuttgart on Friday.
La Roja took the lead in the second half after Dani Olmo converted Yamine Lamal’s low cross.
But the Germans refused to go down without a fight, equalizing with just a minute remaining in regulation time through Florian Wirtz’s well-taken volley.
With the game seemingly destined for penalties, Mikel Merino rose highest to nod home Olmo’s cross in the dying seconds of extra time, sending the Spanish fans into raptures.
The victory sees Spain, three-time European champions, progress to the last four, where they will face either France or Portugal.
