New Real Madrid signing Kylian Mbappé has revealed his reasoning behind choosing the No. 9 jersey, instead of the No. 10.
Mbappé, presented at a packed Santiago Bernabéu on Tuesday, traditionally wears No. 10 for both club and country.
However, he opted to maintain No. 10 with current holder Luka Modrić, stating at his unveiling, “I never said I wanted this number… it’s Luka Modrić’s number. I’m honored to play with Modrić. He’s a champion, a Ballon d’Or and I respect him so much.”
