Steve Nicol Predicts Top-Four Finish for Liverpool Under New Manager
Liverpool legend Steve Nicol has offered his prediction for the club’s performance in the upcoming season under new manager Arne Slot.
Nicol believes the Reds will secure a top-four finish in the Premier League despite not mounting a title challenge.
Slot takes the helm at Anfield following Jürgen Klopp’s nine-year tenure, a period that saw Liverpool win numerous trophies, including the Champions League and Premier League titles.
Nicol suggests it may take time for the new manager to establish a team capable of competing for the championship.
“I think they’ll make the top four,” Nicol told ESPN. “I just don’t think they are going to be challenging for the title. It’s similar to the situation Manchester United faced after Sir Alex Ferguson’s departure – it’s a big transition.”
