Guardiola Eyes Replacement: Ederson Departure Could Lead to New City No. 1

Manchester City Have Backup Plan in Place for Ederson

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola reportedly has a plan in place if goalkeeper Ederson departs the club this summer.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Stefan Ortega, Ederson’s current understudy, would become the first-choice goalkeeper.

Negotiations between Manchester City and Al-Ittihad for Ederson are ongoing, but Romano emphasizes there’s no agreement yet and the deal is not straightforward.

Interestingly, City seem unfazed by the potential Ederson departure and show no interest in signing a “big-name” replacement, despite previous links to goalkeepers like Donnarumma and Oblak.
