Agbonlahor Blasts Ten Hag: “Eighth Last Season” Doesn’t Warrant Guardiola

Agbonlahor Disputes Ten Hag’s Manager Ranking

Former Aston Villa captain Gabby Agbonlahor took issue with Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag’s recent comments comparing himself to Manchester City’s Pep Guardiola.

Ten Hag, in a recent interview, suggested he is the second-best manager in the Premier League based on his two trophies (Carabao Cup and FA Cup) in his two years at Old Trafford.

Agbonlahor highlighted United’s struggles during Ten Hag’s first season, which included an eighth-place finish in the Premier League (their lowest ever) and conceding a record-high 83 goals.

While acknowledging United’s FA Cup win over City, Agbonlahor questioned Ten Hag’s focus on “just stats” and suggested the victory might have been an exception.

He expressed skepticism about United’s true progress under Ten Hag, suggesting their performance in the final might have masked underlying issues.
