Chelsea Defender Faces Exit After Exclusion from US Tour

Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca justified omitting Trevoh Chalobah from the US pre-season tour, citing a crowded defensive position.

Maresca acknowledged the difficulty, saying, “It’s tough to leave any player out, but I’m here to make decisions.” He pointed to the presence of established defenders Wesley Fofana, Axel Disasi, and new signing Tosin Adarabioyo, along with promising youngster Josh Acheampong.

This omission fuels speculation of a permanent exit for Chalobah. Reports suggest Chelsea are open to offers around £35 million, with interest already registered from three Premier League clubs.
