Man City to Rake in £81m from Alvarez Sale
Manchester City are set to make a substantial profit on their investment in Julian Alvarez, with Atletico Madrid agreeing to pay a fee of up to £81m for the Argentine forward.
Negotiations between the two clubs accelerated rapidly in the past 24 hours, culminating in a deal worth an initial £64m, with a further £17m in potential add-ons.
This represents a significant return for City, who acquired Alvarez from River Plate for just £14m in 2022.
The transfer is now subject to personal terms and a medical, but these are not expected to be issues.
