Barcelona Defender Completes Move to Bournemouth
Barcelona has finalized the transfer of young defender Julián Araújo to Premier League side Bournemouth. The 22-year-old, who joined the Catalan giants from LA Galaxy in February 2023, will be heading to the English south coast for a fee of €10 million. There are no buy-back or sell-on clauses included in the deal.
Araujo spent the previous season on loan at Las Palmas, gaining valuable experience in Spanish football. Despite his potential, the Mexican full-back struggled to break into Barcelona’s first team and has opted for a fresh start in England.
Bournemouth have been actively seeking reinforcements in defense and have identified Araújo as a promising talent. The Cherries will be hoping the young defender can make an immediate impact as they look to build on their impressive 12th-place finish in the Premier League last season.
The transfer is now subject to Araujo passing a medical, which is scheduled to take place on Monday.
