Mikel Obi Backs Toney for Arsenal Move
Former Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel believes Ivan Toney would be a valuable addition to Arsenal’s squad. The Nigerian lauded the Brentford striker’s goal-scoring prowess and suggested he could be the missing piece for the Gunners as they aim to clinch the Premier League title.
Toney has been in impressive form for Brentford since their promotion, attracting interest from several top clubs. Mikel believes Arsenal would be the perfect destination for the 28-year-old forward.
“I think a club like Arsenal. He has been linked with Arsenal for quite some time now…
“They will need someone like that, a goalscorer. Havertz is doing really well but Arsenal will need somebody like that, a proven goalscorer.
“I look at him and I think he has still got a lot to give in the Premier League. I think he will probably go to a club in the Premier League. I really think Arsenal will suit Ivan Toney, or (Aston) Villa,” Obi Mikel concluded.
