Chelsea Aim for Osimhen Signing to Bolster Attack
Despite a disappointing season opener against Manchester City, Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca remains hopeful of strengthening his squad before the transfer window closes. The Blues’ lack of attacking firepower was evident in the defeat, with the absence of a clinical striker like Erling Haaland proving costly.
Victor Osimhen, the in-demand Napoli forward, has emerged as a prime target for Chelsea. With PSG pursuing Ademola Lookman, the path appears clear for Chelsea to secure Osimhen’s services. However, reaching an agreement with Napoli remains a challenge.
The arrival of Osimhen would significantly bolster Chelsea’s attack. The Nigerian striker would likely lead the line, flanked by Cole Palmer, Christopher Nkunku, and Pedro Neto.
Meanwhile, Chelsea are exploring options to offload Raheem Sterling, with Saudi Arabian clubs and Juventus expressing interest in the winger. Sterling’s departure could pave the way for the arrival of Pedro Neto, who has joined Chelsea from Wolverhampton Wanderers.
With Osimhen potentially joining the squad, Chelsea’s starting XI could look as follows:
Goalkeeper: Sanchez
Defenders: Gusto, Fofana, Colwill, Cucurella
Midfielders: Lavia, Fernandez, Neto
Forwards: Nkunku, Palmer, Osimhen
