Crystal Palace has renewed their interest in Arsenal forward Eddie Nketiah following the collapse of his proposed move to Nottingham Forest.
Nketiah was expected to join Nottingham Forest for a fee of up to €35 million, but negotiations fell through. However, Arsenal’s hopes of offloading the 24-year-old have not been extinguished, as Crystal Palace has re-entered the race to sign him.
FootballTransfers first reported Crystal Palace’s interest in Nketiah in December 2023, and the Eagles are now actively pursuing a deal with Arsenal. According to Palace reporter Bobby Manzi, the club is considering a loan move with an obligation to buy for the Gunners forward.
Nketiah scored six goals in 37 appearances for Arsenal last season, but his playing time has been limited since the arrival of Kai Havertz. With just 28 league minutes played since March, Nketiah’s future at Arsenal is uncertain.
Crystal Palace has already made several additions to their squad this summer, including Ismaila Sarr, Chadi Riad, Daichi Kamada, and Louie Moulden. However, they are still looking to strengthen their left-wing-back and center-back positions.
The departure of Michael Olise to Bayern Munich has created a void in Crystal Palace’s squad, and the club is actively seeking replacements. Additionally, Jordan Ayew has joined Leicester City, and promising youngster Jesurun Rak-Sakyi has been loaned out for the season.
