Romano Confirms Chelsea’s Lead in Osimhen Pursuit
Fabrizio Romano has assured Chelsea that they are in the prime position to sign Napoli striker Victor Osimhen before the transfer window closes.
Despite facing competition from clubs like PSG and Arsenal, Chelsea has emerged as the frontrunner due to Napoli’s insistence on their €130 million release clause.
With Napoli potentially willing to negotiate the fee and Chelsea in talks with Osimhen, the move seems increasingly likely. However, the Saudi Pro League club Al-Ahli has also expressed interest in the Nigerian striker.
Romano has clarified that Osimhen’s potential move to Saudi Arabia is contingent on the collapse of Chelsea’s negotiations. If Chelsea can meet Osimhen’s salary demands, which reportedly exceed €30 million per year, and negotiate a favorable deal with Napoli, they are well-positioned to secure his signature.
