Ronaldo Honored for Champions League Legacy
Cristiano Ronaldo, the legendary Portuguese forward, has further cemented his status as a Champions League icon. He was awarded a special honor by UEFA in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the competition.
Ronaldo currently leads the Champions League scoring charts, with 11 goals more than Lionel Messi and a substantial 46-goal advantage over Robert Lewandowski.
Upon receiving the award, Ronaldo expressed his gratitude and highlighted the significance of the Champions League in his career. He emphasized the competition’s high level of play and the unforgettable memories it has created for him.
“For me, it’s a pleasure to be here. Thank you for this amazing award. As you know, Champions League is the highest in football. The records speak for themselves but the league (is at that level) because of the players that play in the competition. I have nice memories coming to this gala and football is managed by memories. So, thank you for this,” he said, after receiving the award.
