Bergwijn Slams Koeman After National Team Omission
Steven Bergwijn, a recent signing for Al-Ittihad, has publicly criticized Ronald Koeman after being excluded from the Netherlands national team squad.
Koeman announced his squad for the upcoming UEFA Nations League matches against Bosnia and Herzegovina and Germany. However, Bergwijn was surprisingly left out of the team.
Koeman subsequently criticized Bergwijn’s decision to leave Ajax for Al-Ittihad, suggesting that it would be difficult for him to return to the Netherlands national team under his management.
Bergwijn has now responded to Koeman’s comments, expressing his disappointment and stating that he no longer wants to play for Netherlands under the current manager.
Bergwijn accused Koeman of portraying him negatively in the media without giving him a chance to explain his situation.
“I don’t even want to play for Ronald Koeman anymore,” Bergwijn told Telegraaf.
“I won’t play for someone who portray me like he has done in the media”.
“He could have called me, hear my side of the story. How can he say such things without talking to me?”
