Chelsea in Legal Trouble: Agent Files Lawsuit

Football Agent Sues Chelsea Over Unpaid Fees

Saif Alrubie, a football agent, has filed a lawsuit against Chelsea and former club director Marina Granovskaia over unpaid fees related to the transfer of Kurt Zouma to West Ham United in 2021.

Alrubie claims he had an agreement with Chelsea to receive a commission if Zouma was sold for more than €30 million. He is seeking compensation of up to €3.3 million.

Alrubie previously faced accusations of sending a threatening email to Granovskaia. However, he was cleared of these charges in April.

Alrubie expressed his disappointment in having to take legal action against Chelsea, a club he has supported for many years. He hopes for a swift resolution to the matter.

Meanwhile, The Telegraph has confirmed that Clearlake Capital, the majority shareholder of Chelsea, has no plans to sell their stake in the club. Reports suggesting that the club’s owners might try to buy each other out have been dismissed by Matt Law.

Clearlake Capital is open to increasing their ownership stake in Chelsea, but there are no plans for a complete takeover. The remaining shares of the club are divided among Todd Boehly, Hansjorg Wyss, and Mark Walter.
