Lewandowski Praises Modric’s Incredible Free-Kick
Robert Lewandowski has expressed his admiration for Luka Modric’s stunning free-kick goal against Poland in their UEFA Nations League match.
Modric scored the only goal of the game, securing a 1-0 victory for Croatia. The goal came from a long-range free-kick that caught the Poland goalkeeper off guard.
Lewandowski acknowledged the difficulty of scoring from such a position and praised Modric’s skill and precision. He admitted that the goal was difficult to defend against and highlighted the importance of such moments in football.
He said (via Madrid Xtra): “Modrić scored from a position that was very close to the goal.
“Sometimes it’s more difficult to score from such positions. His shot was perfect. Our goalkeeper didn’t even see the ball.
“It was hard to guess that he would score. But in football, sometimes you score, and sometimes you concede such a goal.”
