Felix Tainta, the agent of Athletic Bilbao’s Nico Williams, has clarified why the talented winger chose to stay at the club this summer.
Despite strong interest from top European teams like Barcelona and Arsenal, Williams decided to remain at San Mames.
Tainta emphasized that the player’s wishes were paramount, stating, “Nico wanted to stay at Athletic for another year. Our role is to support him and offer guidance, but we can’t force him to make a decision he’s not comfortable with.”
“Our job is to work for him and give him advice, but we can’t put a gun to his head and force him to leave,” Tainta told Cadena Ser.
