Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has explained why Cole Palmer, Romeo Lavia, and Wes Fofana were left out of the club’s UEFA Conference League squad.
Maresca stated that the decision was made to protect the players and ensure their long-term fitness. He clarified that Palmer is fully fit and ready to contribute to the team.
“The reason why Cole Palmer, Romeo Lavia, and Wes Fofana are out of the Conference League squad is because we try to protect them,” Maresca said.
“Cole is fit, he’s fine. We are happy with how he is,” the Italian added.
