Man City Targets €100m Defensive Midfielder Amid Rodri Injury

Manchester City are reportedly considering a €100 million move for Bayern Munich’s Jamal Musiala to fill the void left by injured midfielder Rodri.

The Spain international is expected to miss the remainder of the season due to a suspected ACL injury, significantly impacting City’s title aspirations.

According to TeamTalk, City are leading the race for Musiala ahead of several other top European clubs. The report suggests that Guardiola’s team has a slight advantage over Real Madrid due to Musiala’s desire to return to the Premier League.

While City has hinted at a potential bid, the timing remains uncertain. Given their urgent need for a replacement, a January move could be on the horizon. Bayern, however, may be reluctant to sell Musiala, especially considering his contract expires in 2026.

Guardiola is said to be particularly interested in Musiala, recognizing his potential to develop into a defensive midfielder role. However, Bayern’s valuation of the 21-year-old is significantly higher than City’s anticipated offer.

Any mid-season transfer would be surprising, and a move for Musiala would likely come at a premium.
