Slot Surprised by Gravenberch’s Development
Liverpool manager Arne Slot has expressed his admiration for Ryan Gravenberch’s performances this season. The midfielder has impressed Slot with his ability to excel in a defensive midfield role.
Gravenberch was previously deployed as a No. 8 under Jürgen Klopp but has flourished in the double pivot alongside Alexis Mac Allister under Slot. The 22-year-old has replaced Wataru Endo in the starting XI.
Slot praised Gravenberch’s ball-handling skills and his defensive contributions. He admitted that Gravenberch’s defensive abilities surprised him, as he was known for his attacking prowess in the Dutch league.
Gravenberch’s strong performances have been recognized by others as well. Former Manchester United star Gary Neville named him Player of the Match for his role in Liverpool’s victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers.
