Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has expressed his admiration for former teammate Aaron Ramsdale, who will face his old club Arsenal this weekend when Southampton visit the Emirates Stadium.
Ramsdale spent time with Arsenal’s youth academy before joining Sheffield United and Bournemouth. He later returned to Arsenal in 2021 and has since established himself as the club’s first-choice goalkeeper.
“He’s a player that we loved a lot,” Arteta said of Ramsdale. “He really put his fingerprints here at the club and the way that he was and we are happy. It’ll be very good to see him”
The match against Southampton will be a reunion for Ramsdale, who will be looking to help his new club secure a positive result against his former team.
