Manchester City has already identified Pep Guardiola’s successor. – Ederson

According to the club’s goalkeeper, Ederson, City has a well-structured plan in place for the post-Guardiola era. While Guardiola’s contract expires next summer, there’s a possibility he might leave the club earlier.

Speculation has linked Guardiola with the England national team and other clubs, but the appointment of Thomas Tuchel as England’s manager has ruled out that possibility.

Despite Guardiola’s impressive tenure at City, which has included four consecutive Premier League titles, the impending departure of the club’s sporting director, Txiki Begiristain, has fueled questions about Guardiola’s future.

Ruben Amorim and Xabi Alonso are among the names being considered to replace Guardiola. Amorim, the manager of Sporting CP, has been linked to the role due to his success with the Lisbon club and the impending arrival of Sporting CP’s sporting director, Hugo Viana, as Begiristain’s successor.

Alonso, the manager of Bayer Leverkusen, is also being considered.Ederson emphasized that City is a well-managed club with a clear succession plan in place, ensuring a smooth transition when Guardiola eventually leaves.

“City is a very well-structured club, well-managed, great directors, great CEO,” Ederson told TNT Sports Brazil.

“I believe the club already has the next manager in mind. The day Pep decides to leave, they will try to follow the same line of work.

“Of course it’d be a great loss [if Guardiola left]. We’re talking about the best manager in the world but I see a really well-prepared club for the post-Pep era.”
