Jose Mourinho has suggested that Manchester United could still be awarded the 2017/18 Premier League title if Manchester City are found guilty of financial breaches.
The former United manager, who led the Red Devils to a second-place finish behind City during that season, believes a potential punishment for City could retroactively hand the title to his former team.
“I think Man Utd still have a chance to win that league [2017/18 season] if they punish Manchester City,” Mourinho said in his pre-match press conference ahead of Fenerbahce’s Europa League clash with United. “In that case, I hope they give me my medal and pay me the bonus.”
