Thomas Tuchel has revealed that he turned down the opportunity to manage Manchester United due to concerns over potential transfer disagreements.
According to Bild, the German tactician held discussions with United officials this past summer as the club considered replacing Erik ten Hag.
However, Tuchel decided against the move, fearing that he would face similar transfer issues to those he encountered at Bayern Munich, Chelsea, and PSG.
Instead, Tuchel has opted to take on the role of England national team manager, a position he will assume in January 2025.
Meanwhile, Erik ten Hag remains under pressure at Manchester United. Despite surviving the recent international break and an executive summit, his future at the club is uncertain.
The Dutchman will need to improve the team’s performance in the coming weeks to secure his position.
