Scholes Questions Amorim Appointment, Praises Tuchel
Manchester United legend Paul Scholes has expressed skepticism about the impending appointment of Ruben Amorim as the club’s new manager. The former midfielder believes that the hype surrounding Amorim is reminiscent of the initial excitement surrounding Erik ten Hag’s appointment.
While acknowledging Amorim’s achievements in the Portuguese league, Scholes questions whether he’s the right fit for a club of Manchester United’s stature.
“I think Thomas Tuchel was the right one to coach Manchester United, but obviously he’s gone now with England,” Scholes said on The Overlap Fan Debate. “He’s someone that can manage an elite football club and win big games. He’s been there and done it.”
Scholes suggested that Tuchel’s experience and proven track record would have made him a more suitable choice for the Manchester United job.
