Guardiola Blames Lack of Intensity for Bournemouth Defeat
Manchester City suffered a shock 2-1 defeat to Bournemouth, bringing an end to their impressive 32-game unbeaten run. Pep Guardiola admitted that his side failed to match the intensity of the hosts.
“We knew we couldn’t match the intensity. We have talked about it. It was an open game,” Guardiola said. The City manager highlighted Bournemouth’s physicality and aggression as key factors in their victory.
Despite a late goal from Josko Gvardiol, City couldn’t mount a comeback. Guardiola acknowledged that his team needed to improve their performance in such high-intensity matches.
“We had chances at the end but I congratulate Bournemouth for the victory,” he added.
