Souness Slams Pogba: A Wasted Talent
Liverpool legend Graeme Souness has issued a stern warning to Premier League clubs considering a move for Paul Pogba. The French World Cup winner, who recently parted ways with Juventus, has been linked with a potential return to the English top flight.
However, Souness believes Pogba is a “wasted talent” who has consistently underperformed. He expressed concerns about the midfielder’s injury record, lack of discipline, and inability to consistently deliver at the highest level.
“If I were a Premier League manager, there are no circumstances under which I would take a punt on bringing in Paul Pogba,” Souness said. “He’s only played 39 games since the 2021/22 season. He is extremely talented, but he’s a wasted talent. The worst thing that happened to him was winning the World Cup because, from that point on, he just sat in his armchair.”
Souness’s comments highlight the skepticism surrounding Pogba’s potential move to a Premier League club. While the Frenchman undoubtedly possesses immense talent, his inconsistency and injury problems have raised doubts about his ability to make a significant impact.
