Guardiola Defiant Despite City’s Struggles
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has dismissed concerns about his team’s recent struggles, insisting that injuries have been the primary factor behind their poor form.
The Cityzens have endured a disappointing start to the season, losing four of their last seven games. However, Guardiola remains confident in his squad’s ability to turn things around, once key players like Kevin De Bruyne and Phil Foden return to full fitness.
“I’m desperate for five goals and assists from Foden after last season,” Guardiola said. “Five for Kevin, goals and assists from Jeremy Doku, Jack Grealish, Savinho or Gundo. Just five goals and assists from these players and we’d be top of the league.”
Guardiola also addressed comparisons to former Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho, emphasizing that his own success at City speaks for itself. He remains committed to leading the club to future successes.
