Henry Questions Guardiola’s Transfer Decisions
Arsenal legend Thierry Henry has criticized Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola’s decision to allow key players like Cole Palmer, Riyad Mahrez, and Julian Alvarez to leave the club.
Guardiola’s City side has been struggling in recent times, with a string of disappointing results. Henry believes that the departures of these talented players have weakened the team’s attacking options.
“We all know, it’s the first time and we’re allowed to say it, that we can challenge his decisions in the way of letting Cole Palmer go, Riyad Mahrez, Julian Alvarez,” Henry said. “Ilkay Gundogan came back and it’s not the same Gundogan who scored 17 goals a season.”
Henry pointed out the importance of goal-scoring contributions from multiple players and questioned whether City’s current squad has the same attacking firepower as before. He highlighted the lack of goals from players like Kevin De Bruyne and Ilkay Gundogan compared to previous seasons.
